About the Event

Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), a premier institute for legal education in India, cordially invites your esteemed institution to participate in the 16th edition of the GNLU International Moot Court Competition (GIMC 2025), a leading moot court competition on international trade law. GIMC 2025 is scheduled to be held from 24th to 28th September 2025.

For over 15 years, GIMC has been a premier platform for law students to engage in nuanced discussions on contemporary issues in international trade law, fostering research and advocacy excellence. Recognized by leading institutions such as the World Trade Institute (WTO) and the International Law Students Association (ILSA), GIMC has consistently attracted participation from law schools across the globe. After a stellar 15th edition, preparations are already underway for the next edition of GIMC.

How to Register?

For Provisional Registration, please fill out the Google Form available at the end of the post. Provisional registration can be done either by the university or directly by the teams. 

For Final Registration (completion of all registration formalities), kindly refer to the Rules of the Competition for detailed steps and requirements. 

Participating teams will be provided with lodging and food for the days of the competition. We will be glad to assist the teams with any other formalities.

Important dates

Release of moot problem 30th April 2025
Last date for provisional registration 10th July 2025
Last date for completion of all registration formalities 22nd August 2025
Last date for submission of soft copy of memorials 7th September 2025
Orientation and Researchers’ Test 24th September 2025
Oral Rounds 25th – 28th September 2025

Prizes

The Winners and Runners-up of the 16th edition will receive cash prizes of INR 50,000 and INR 25,000, respectively, along with other prizes. Cash prizes and other awards will also be handed out to the Best Orator (Final Rounds), the Best Orator (Preliminary Rounds), the Best Written Submission and the Best Researcher.
