About CLPRS
The Constitutional Law and Policy Reform Society (CLPRS) is a student-led committee at PGCL that fosters critical engagement with constitutional law and public policy. CLPRS functions as an academic platform that organizes lecture series, student-led discussions, workshops, policy drafting competitions, and seminars focused on pressing legal and constitutional issues.
The society aims to encourage analytical thinking, constructive dialogue, and legal reform by providing students with avenues to explore, critique, and reimagine theIndian legal and policy landscapes. Through its initiatives, CLPRS promotes a deeper understanding of constitutional values and their role in contemporary governance of the country.
About PGCL
Established in 2004 by SVKM, Pravin Gandhi College of Law (PGCL) is a premier institution offering a five-year integrated B.A., LL.B. course, designed to provide a strong foundation in both law and arts. In addition, the college also offers a two-year LL.M. program with specialisations in Business Law and Criminal Law and Criminal Administration, catering to students aiming to pursue advanced legal education. PGCL is known for its commitment to academic excellence and for nurturing a well-rounded legal education.
SVKM’s Pravin Gandhi College of Law is the first and only law college under the University of Mumbai to receive an ‘A+’ Grade with a score of 3.28 CGPA on a four-point scale by the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council).The college provides students with a dynamic environment that blends traditional classroom learning with interactive methods such as moot courts, debates, seminars, and student-led publications.
With a strong focus on holistic development and critical thinking, PGCL ensures that its students graduate not just with legal knowledge, but with the confidence and clarity to contribute meaningfully to the legal industry and the society at large.
About the Competition
The Constitutional Law and Policy Reform Society at PGCL, Mumbai is pleased to announce its 1st Inter Policy Blog writing Competition. The competitive platform seeks to encourage critical reflection on how constitutional values like justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity influence today’s legal, political, and social structures. In the pursuit of which we thereby invite blog submissions on the central theme of ‘Constitutional Morality’.
Participants are encouraged to explore a wide array of sub-themes including freedom of expression, secularism, rights of the arrestee, environmental justice, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision of constitutional morality.
Submission Guidelines
- Submissions are welcome from undergraduate and post-graduate students across disciplines.
- Registration is free.
- Contributions are expected to be in adherence to originality, reasoning and well-researched commentary on the subjects and issues of Constitutional Morality.
- Co-Authorship is permitted up to two authors.
- All submissions must be original and unpublished and must not be under consideration elsewhere.
- Authors are expected to ensure factual accuracy and originality, and to substantiate their arguments with credible references while incorporating legal and constitutional analysis.
- AI generated content is strictly prohibited.
- All submissions must adhere to the permissible plagiarism threshold of 10%.
- Submissions that do not comply with the above-mentioned standards shall be disqualified.
Formatting Guidelines
- Word Count: 1000-1200 words
- Font: Times New Roman, Size: 12, Line Spacing: 1.5
- Margins: 1 inch on all sides
- Sources: Hyperlinks or online references within the text
- Citation style: Harvard Bluebook (20th edition)
Submission Process
- The blog must be in .doc/.docx (MS Word) format.
- The document must not include any identifying information (author’s name, college, year of study etc.)
- All personal and academic details must be provided in the form itself
- Only the first author (in case of co-authorship) must fill and submit the form
- Any submissions made via email or any other mode shall not be accepted
Sub themes
Participants are encouraged to explore the main theme through the following suggested lenses or related contemporary issues:
- Constitutional Morality in Urban Slum Policies
- The Role of Constitutional Morality in Upholding Secularism in India
- Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Vision of Constitutional Morality
- Reclaiming Constitutional Morality in the Rights of the Arrestee and Accused
- Constitutional Morality and Freedom of Expression
- Environmental Justice and Constitutional Morality
Authors are encouraged to explore sub-themes in alignment to Constitutional Morality with a broader mission of promoting a thoughtful and inclusive discourse.
Deadline
The last day of submission is 25th August 2025. Any submissions received after this deadline will not be considered. Early submissions are encouraged.

- Quality and originality of analysis
- Structural coherence and logical flow
- Clarity of language and writing style
Prizes
- The Winner shall receive a ₹1500 cash prize along with a trophy, certificate of merit and blog publication on the official website of CLPRS.
- The Runner-up shall receive a ₹1000 cash prize along with a certificate of merit and blog publication on the official website of CLPRS.
- Additionally, the selected TOP 5 blogs will be provided with a certificate of merit along with blog publication on the official website of CLPRS.
- Certificate of participation for all participants.
