About the Lecture Series
Honorable Justice RC Lahoti (1st November, 1940- 23rd March, 2022), the 35th Chief Justice of India and Chairperson, Advisory Board at School of Law, Manav Rachna University was a jurist par excellence, enriching the law and lives of many. He is revered for the strength of his thoughts and dedication towards duty.
As a crusader of justice, he continues to inspire generations through his staunch discipline, commitment and wisdom. He gave impetus to Legal Services, ADR systems, Access to Justice and authored 342 judgments during his 7-year tenure at the apex court including many landmark judgments.
We are honoured and deeply beholden to be led by his vision as the Founding Chairperson of the Advisory Board at School of Law, Manav Rachna University. Shri Ratan Lal Lahoti Gold Medal and Shri Ratan Lal Lahoti Memorial Law Library stands as a testimony of his passion for education and nurturing young minds with values and ethics.
A philanthropist, an epitome of super-eminence and an inspiration to law students and legal professionals, his cherished legacy lives on. Justice RC Lahoti Memorial Lecture Series is a Tribute towards Celebrating the rich heritage of Hon’ble Justice R C Lahoti as we firmly believe that revisiting the deeds and memories of Hon’ble Justice R C Lahoti through this annual law lecture series will illuminate the path of future generations in myriad ways.
The inaugural lecture was delivered by Hon’ble Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji, Former President of India, on 11th May 2024.
