About RGNUL
The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab, was established by the State Legislature of Punjab by passing the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab Act, 2006 (Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006). The Act incorporated a University of Law of national stature in Punjab, to fulfil the need for a Centre of Excellence in legal education in the modern era of globalization and liberalization.
About CIIPR
CIIPR aims at teaching and promoting research in the IPR specialization course which is to synergize all types of IPRs in all the fields of sciences, technologies, engineering and another field of studies and further promote innovations in the interest of all the stakeholders. RGNUL, Punjab has itself been established as the Nodal Center of Academics and Professionalism in legal education and is yet to establish itself in specialising in Intellectual Property Clinics (IP Clinics).
About the Competition
The Article writing competition intends to provide young writers a platform to test their adroitness for writing and explore a wide range of challenging and interesting questions beyond the routine college curriculum. The students are expected to analyze and suggest ways to encourage innovation and strengthen the current IPR regime. The organizers aim to promote research and writing while contributing to an innovative future leading to sustainable development.
Competition Format
The competition format would include a mandatory registration, and participants must submit a final draft, which must be between 1500 and 2500 words, followed by a paper presentation on the themes mentioned below. Winners will be announced after the blind peer review process is completed. The paper presentations will be conducted in online mode.
Theme
The following themes serve as indicative areas of exploration for participants. While the list outlines some contemporary and thought-provoking topics at the intersection of Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights, it is by no means exhaustive. Participants are encouraged to delve into any allied subject that aligns with the overarching focus on innovation and intellectual property.

Eligibility
Open to all Undergraduate and Postgraduate students across disciplines. Interdisciplinary perspectives are encouraged.

The top 3 teams entries will be awarded with cash prize.
- 1st Prize- Rs.7000
- 2nd Prize-Rs.5000
- 3rd Prize -Rs.3000
In addition to the cash prizes, the candidates of top two entries will be offered an internship opportunity at SS Rana & Co. Furthermore, the Top 10 ranked articles, as selected by the review panel, will be published in the official CIIPR Journal and on the CIIPR website. These participants will also receive Merit Certificates in recognition of their achievement.
