01. Petitioners are present in person too.

02. Notice to the respondents in the main as well as in the interim
application returnable within two weeks, subject to taking of steps for
service during the course of this week for filing reply/objections.

03. Heard learned counsel appearing for the petitioners.

04. It is contended by learned counsel for the petitioners that
petitioners, who are present before this Court, are major and they have
entered into mutual wedlock out of their own freewill and choice and that
they apprehend harassment and interference on the part of the private
respondents, who are the relatives of the Petitioner No. 1, as she has chosen
to marry with petitioner no. 2 without their consent. Learned counsel further
contended that the Hon’ble Apex Court in “Lata Singh Vs. State of U.P.
and Others
“, AIR, 2006 SC, 2522 has directed that the Police Authorities
shall provide protection to the persons i.e., a major boy and girl, who
contract marriage out of their own free will and choice.

05. Perused the main petition and copies of the documents enclosed
with the same as Annexures thereto especially the date of birth certificates
of the petitioners revealing them as major. The Aadhar Cards of the
petitioners have been checked in the open Court.

06. List again on 24th March, 2025.

07. In the meantime, subject to any vacation or modification, upon
the consideration of objections/arguments and till next date of hearing
before the Bench, the respondents 1 to 3 shall provide protection to the
petitioners as and when they approach for the same so that their right to life
and personal liberty is not curtailed. However, this Order shall not be
construed as any inference of this Court regarding validity of the alleged
marriage.
