Death is an unconditional part of human lives. In every culture and religion there are different way for the burials. If we are on earth we can perform any way provided as per our customs. My concern is regarding, if someone dies in space, how he/she should be buried in proper manner.

The Swedish Biologist, Susanne Wiigh-Mäsak has provided us the new form of ecological burial, named as ‘Promession’.

Promession- In this form firstly the corpse is to be placed in a coffin. Then it is  frozen to minus 18 degree Celsius and lastly submerge into a liquid nitrogen. This makes the body very fragile and vibration of a particular amplitude disintegrate into an organic powder. After which those particles will be introduced in a vacuum chamber, where the water is evaporated away.

Legality of promession – Promession is legal in Sweden and Scotland.

Constitution created- The Right to environment as a fundamental right. This means that all activities undertaken by either private person or government must be undertaken in accordance with this right.

Conclusion- In respect of India, after recognizing and respecting every cultural, traditional and religious necessities in respect of burials, I firmly believe proper guidelines should be framed for the implementation of alternative burial methods.

Being a citizen it’s our duty to protect our environment and also our outer space.
