The Court:- This is an application made by the sole defendant for

extension of time to file the written statement. The writ of summons was on 4 th

October, 2023 directing the filing of the written statement within 21 days from

the service of the writ of summons. This application has been filed on 27 th

After hearing the parties and considering the materials on record, I find

that for the ends of justice the time to file the written statement be extended

subject to payment of cost, though the explanation for delay is not satisfactory.

The time to file the written statement is extended till 30 th April, 2025

subject to payment of cost assessed at 300 GMs, out of which 150 GMs to be

paid to plaintiff and the balance sum to be paid to the High Court Legal

Services Committee.

The Department shall accept the written statement only after

ascertaining the payment of costs provided the same is in order and proper

form and filed within the extended period of time. A legible copy of the written

statement be served on the learned Advocate for the plaintiff.

Nothing further remains to be adjudicated in this application.

The application being IA No. GA/6/2024 in CS No. 200 of 2023 is,

accordingly, disposed of.
