About the Internship:
ICRIER is inviting applications from law students for an engaging research internship under the project titled “Cellular Network SEPs: A Study of the Indian Ecosystem.” This project focuses on Intellectual Property (IP) licensing frameworks—particularly Standard Essential Patents (SEPs)—and their impact on startups, SMEs, and educational institutions.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Law students currently in the 3rd to 5th year of a 5-year integrated program or the 2nd to 3rd year of a 3-year LL.B. program.

  • Preference will be given to applicants who:

    • Have prior academic or practical exposure to IPR or IP litigation.

    • Possess a science/technology background (such as engineering, computer science, biotechnology, etc.).

    • Are familiar with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, and DIAC (Administrative Cost & Arbitrators’ Fees) Rules, 2018.

What Interns Will Gain:

  • Deep insight into IP licensing frameworks and their real-world applications.

  • Exposure to stakeholder engagements involving policymakers, industry leaders, legal experts, and academicians.
