About the College

The Kanoria School of Law for Women, established in 2018 in the campus of Kanoria College, Jaipur, is affiliated to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University and approved by the Bar Council of India.

The institution is dedicated to developing new areas of legal education that will help young females become qualified lawyers who will inculcate a profound and long-lasting respect for human dignity, social justice, and fairness. High-quality legal education is provided by KSLW, which will eventually produce a new generation of judges, lawyers, leaders, and legislators.

About the Debate Competition

Kanoria School of Law for Women is organizing “Parley 5.0: Debate Competition” on 13-14 June 2025. The competition’s purpose is to encourage students to think critically about diverse social and legal issues and to provide experience that will help them develop life-changing cognitive and presentational abilities.

The debaters will also gain unique educational advantages from this debate competition as they hone unattainable talents in any other environment. Its goal is to make law graduates more aware of the effectiveness of using persuasive facts and well-reasoned arguments.

It allows them to explain their position by employing verbal elegance. It gives one a sense of composure and assurance. It teaches students how to conduct effective research, arrange information, and deliver it in an engaging way.

Eligibility

  • Students pursuing a 3-year or 5-year law course from any University/Institute/College approved by the Bar Council of India are eligible to participate in the event.
  • Each college/institute/university may enter only 3 teams (selection on a first-come, first-served basis).
  • Teams may consist of students from the same or different institutions.

Note: Winners of past editions of Parley are not eligible to participate.

Topic of the Debate Competition

  • Preliminary (Round 1): Efficacy of Cyber Laws in India.
  • Semi-Final (Round 2): Courts should uphold constitutional morality over public sentiments.
  • Final (Round 3): Relevance of Human Rights Institutions in contemporary India.

Important Dates

  • Last Date for Registration: 6th June 2025
  • Date of Competition: 13th–14th June 2025

Guidelines of the Event

  • Team will comprise of two participants speaking For and Against the Motion from each university/ institution / college.
  • Students from the same college /universities can participate as a team.
  • Students from the different college /universities can participate as a team
  • Time Limit:
    • Preliminary & Semi-Final: 3+1 minutes per candidate
    • Final: 5+1 minutes per candidate
  • Medium: English
  • Dress Code: Western or Indian Formals
  • Attendance at both the Inaugural and Valedictory Ceremony is mandatory to receive a certificate of participation.
