Tell us about the infrastructure of your law college
The classrooms at CGC Jhanjeri are spacious and well-maintained, but during the summer months, they tend to get quite hot due to insufficient ventilation, which can be uncomfortable at times. The library has a good collection of books and resources, making it a helpful place for study and research.
Sports facilities are available, including a ground for various outdoor games; however, the sports equipment and infrastructure could be improved to encourage more participation. Hostel rooms are comfortable and provide a good living environment, and I’ve heard from many students that the hostel food is quite decent compared to other colleges.
The college is continuously growing, with new buildings and blocks being constructed, and it is expected to become a very large campus and possibly a university soon. Overall, I would rate the infrastructure 3.5 out of 5, as there is room for improvement but the campus is steadily developing.
How are the academic culture and faculty in your college?
The academic culture at CGC Jhanjeri is focused and supportive. The faculty members are approachable and friendly, always willing to clear doubts and encourage student participation. Attendance is monitored, and 75% attendance is mandatory to be eligible to sit for exams, which helps maintain discipline without being too strict.
Classes run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. Overall, the faculty quality is decent, and the academic atmosphere motivates students to learn. I would rate the academic culture and faculty 4 out of 5.
How’s the peer quality in your college? Rate it on a scale of 5 with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest.
The peer quality at CGC Jhanjeri is quite diverse, with students coming from various cultural, regional, and even international backgrounds. This diversity creates a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone interacts well with each other.
Most students are motivated and serious about their studies, while also participating actively in extracurricular activities. Overall, I would rate the peer quality 4 out of 5.
Tell us about the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities
CGC Jhanjeri offers a wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. There are many clubs related to literature and other interests, along with active NSS, NCC, and DSA units. The college organizes events like moot court competitions, intra-client counseling contests, workshops, and webinars with guest speakers such as judges and lawyers.
Beyond academics, the college hosts cultural fests, fashion shows, concerts by popular singers, and an annual sports meet. Additionally, there is a Hostel Premier League and faculty sports events that add to the campus spirit. The social life is vibrant and inclusive, encouraging students to engage in various activities and develop diverse skills. However, the sports facilities could use some improvement. Overall, I would rate the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities 4 out of 5.
How are the placements in your college?
The placement scenario at CGC Jhanjeri is still developing for law courses, as the law department is relatively new. The 5-year law programs started just a few years ago, and the oldest batch is currently in the 4th year, so no law-specific placements have taken place yet.
I also don’t have clear information about placements for the 3-year LLB course. However, overall placements in the college across other streams are considered good, with the highest package this year reportedly reaching up to 1 crore rupees. Internship opportunities are available during the course. Based on the current status, I would rate the placement opportunities 3 out of 5.
How are the hostels in your college?
I don’t live in the hostel, but based on what I’ve observed and heard from my peers, the hostels at CGC Jhanjeri are well-maintained and offer a comfortable living experience. Cleanliness is regularly maintained, and facilities like Wi-Fi, laundry, mess, and a gym are available.
A new hostel building has also been constructed, which is much larger than the previous one—having 11 floors compared to the earlier 6. The food quality is said to be average, but still better than in many other colleges. Hostel life is active, with events like the Hostel Premier League and other recreational activities. Based on overall feedback, I would rate the hostels 4 out of 5.
What are the best things you like about your college?
Some of the best things I like about CGC Jhanjeri are the active campus life and the regular co-curricular and extra-curricular events. Competitions like moot courts, intra-client counselling, fashion shows, and the annual sports meet keep students engaged beyond academics.
The faculty is supportive and approachable, and workshops, seminars, and guest lectures by judges and legal professionals are frequently organized. The campus also hosts concerts by famous singers like Ankit Tiwari and Waqar Younis, which add a vibrant cultural touch to student life. I also appreciate the diversity among students—there are people from different states and even other countries, and everyone interacts respectfully.
The campus is still growing, with new buildings and hostels being constructed, and there’s a possibility of it becoming a university soon, which is exciting.
In your opinion, what are bad things about your college?
In my opinion, while CGC Jhanjeri has many positive aspects, there are some areas that could be improved. Academics sometimes feel a bit monotonous, and I think the teaching methods could be made more engaging. The sports facilities and equipment are lacking, which affects students interested in athletics and outdoor activities.
During summers, hostel rooms can get quite hot due to poor ventilation. Also, since the college is still developing, some infrastructure, like classrooms and common areas, could be enhanced further. Overall, these are areas where the college has room to grow and improve.
Anything else you want to share?
I am excited about the growth happening at CGC Jhanjeri, with new buildings coming up and the possibility of becoming a university soon. The college offers almost the same facilities as other private law colleges but at a much more affordable fee, making quality legal education accessible.
The diverse student community and supportive faculty create a good environment for learning. While there is room for improvement in some areas, I am optimistic about the future and look forward to contributing positively to the college community.
