- The Delhi High Court has recognized the rights of Saregama India Limited and has prohibited Movie World Visual Media from using or exploiting Saregama’s copyrighted works.
- Saregama India Limited filed a copyright infringement suit against Movie World Visual Media, asserting that the latter was unlawfully exploiting its sound recordings and literary works from Malayalam films.

The Delhi High Court while recognizing the rights of Saregama given its numerous assignment agreements, and inlay cards, has restrained Movie World from using/exploiting Saregama’s copyrighted works.
Saregama claimed that Movie World by illegally exploiting the copyrighted works of Saregama is also giving the impression that Saregama’s copyrighted works are vested with the original producers or with Movie World and that no license is required from Saregama to exploit the same.
Saregama India Limited had filed a copyright infringement suit before the Delhi High Court against Movie World Visual Media, to restrain it from using the sound recordings, and musical and literary works of Malayam cinematograph films.
Saregama also claimed that it has been exploiting the said copyrighted works continuously for the last four decades.
