Chief Justice of India (CJI) Bhushan Gavai inaugurated the live streaming of proceedings of the Bombay High Court on Saturday, marking a significant step towards enhancing transparency and public access to the judicial process.

Initially, the live streaming facility will cover proceedings from five key benches of the High Court:

  • Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Sandeep Marne
  • Justice Revati Mohite-Dere and Justice Dr Neela Gokhale
  • Justice Mahesh Sonak and Justice Jitendra Jain
  • Justice Ravindra Ghuge and Justice Milind Sathaye
  • Justice Ajay Gadkari and Justice Rajesh Patil

In addition to the live streaming service, CJI Gavai also launched newly installed free Wi-Fi and internet facilities within the High Court premises. These services will be accessible to lawyers, litigants, court staff, and members of the media, further supporting digital accessibility within the judicial environment.

With this development, the Bombay High Court joins a growing list of High Courts offering live-streamed proceedings. The Gujarat, Calcutta, and Chhattisgarh High Courts currently livestream their sessions on YouTube. Additionally, selected benches of the Karnataka, Gauhati, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Orissa High Courts, as well as certain Principal District Courts in Gujarat, have adopted live streaming of court hearings.
