Government Law College Thiruvananthapuram GW5V+64, Barton Hill Rd, Barton Hill, Barton Hill Colony, Kunnukuzhy, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala 695035

My college was built in 1875, just 15 years after the Indian Penal Code came into force, so the buildings are quite ancient. There are only about five buildings, which is fewer compared to other colleges, but the campus accommodates nearly 800 students every year.

The classrooms have decent infrastructure. The library is quite spacious considering the size of the classes. The overall campus is beautiful, surrounded by huge trees and greenery, which gives a peaceful, nature-connected atmosphere

However, sports facilities are limited; we only have a volleyball court, and there’s not much encouragement for athletic activities.

Rated: 3/5

We have nearly 20 highly qualified professors. Most have pursued law extensively and hold Ph.D. degrees. They possess strong academic knowledge and are genuinely helpful when it comes to students’ careers.

The attendance system is strict, as the college mandates regular class attendance for a more transparent learning experience
Class timings are generally from 9 AM to 4 PM, though they may vary.

Rated: 4/5

The peers in my college are very diverse, coming from various districts across the state. They are highly determined, enthusiastic about the legal profession, and focused on their careers. Moreover, everyone is quite supportive of each other.

There are many active clubs on campus, including the MUN Club, Moot Society, Music Club, Theatre Club, Dance Club, and Arts Club.

Participation in NSS (National Service Scheme) and NCC (National Cadet Corps) is significant.
College politics is also very active and vibrant on campus.

Rated: 4.5/5

The placement cell is very proactive. It organizes seminars and workshops for students, and many students have been placed in prominent law firms and MNCs.

Rated: 4.5/5

There is only one ladies’ hostel inside the campus, with around 150 available spots. The hostels are clean and offer basic facilities to students.

Rated: 4/5

The college environment is peaceful and refreshing, with a beautiful green campus that creates a calm atmosphere ideal for learning.

Honestly, I don’t think there are any bad things worth mentioning about my college.

8/10
