The Deputy Superintendent of Police Sri. H. J.
Thippeswamy from the Karnataka Lokayukta, Bengaluru
(R) Division has laid the charge sheet against the accused
for the offence punishable under Section 13(1)(e) read
with Section 13(2) of The Prevention of Corruption Act,
1988 (for short the PC Act) in Crime No.61/2013 of the
Bengaluru Urban Division.
2. Allegations in brief are that, the accused was
appointed as a Typist in the Excise Department on
26.03.1990. Subsequently, he was promoted as a
Stenographer and then has been still working in the
capacity of the Excise Inspector. He is a public servant as
defined under Section 2(c) of the P.C Act. The check
period applicable to him is 26.03.1990 to 30.08.2013.
During the said period, the accused had accumulated the
assets worth Rs.32,78,886/- i.e., 77.04%
disproportionate to his known sources of an income. The
accused failed to give the satisfactory accounts to the
extent of assets disproportionate and thereby committed
the afore-referred offence.
