Order

21/07/2025

1. The present petition has been filed on behalf of the petitioner

seeking direction for issuance of passport and grant of

permission to travel abroad.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned AGA

appearing on behlaf of the State as well as gone through the

niceties of the matter.

3. It is often apprehended that permitting an accused to travel

abroad during the pendency of a judicial proceeding may

result in his non-return, thereby jeopardizing the course of

trial. However, the present case stands on a different

[2025:RJ-JD:31983] (2 of 7) [CRLMP-5789/2025]

footing. The petitioner is facing only one criminal case,

wherein he has already been extended the benefit of

probation, a clear reflection of the reformative and

rehabilitative approach enshrined in our criminal justice

system.
