About the Job
Karan Gupta Law Chambers is looking to retain associates for its disputes practice in Bangalore.
Eligibility
- Law Degree from a BCI recognised university;
- Prior internship experiences in disputes/litigation;
- PQE (0-2 years).
- Candidates with speaking and writing skills in Kannada are preferred.
Nature of work
- Appearances in various forums;
- Research, drafting, and settling pleadings; and
- Preparation of compendium notes on points of law.
Associates are encouraged to actively participate in client meetings, and take ownership of matters.
Retainership
Retainership shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and performance.

Bangalore office – 26, 1st Cross, Magrath Road, Next to Garuda Mall, Bangalore 560025
Application requirements
- CV of the candidate, not exceeding three pages;
- A statement of interest not exceeding 300 words on motivation to practice in disputes or as a litigating lawyer (the statement is not expected to be focused on the Chambers itself); and
- A published writing sample (paid-for publications are not accepted) OR a short critique/analysis of the judgment of the Supreme Court of India in Gayatri Balasamy Vs ISG Novasoft Technologies Ltd OR M/S Neeharika Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. v. State of Maharashtra (the note must contain a very brief and precise summary of the holding, and focus on an independent analysis/critique).
Timelines
- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis; and
- Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed prior to confirmation of the retainership.
