About the Book

The book is dedicated to provide meaningful insights into the field of Environmental justice and Climate action. This call for chapter invites high-quality contributions in both Indian and the global context incorporating a combination of theory, empirical analysis, societal problems, etc. Original research papers, conceptual articles, case studies, and field observations, are highly encouraged and welcome.

We believe in bringing forth diverse perspectives, cutting-edge research, and practical approaches on Environmental justice and Climate action. This volume is intended to serve as a comprehensive, multidisciplinary resource for academics, researchers and the students of Environmental law.

Theme and Scope

The landscape of Environmental law continues to evolve just like the issues pertaining to it do. This calls for addressing the issues in a meaningful manner so that it could help in advancing the field of Environmental law by addressing challenges, offering innovative solutions and shaping the future development of the field.

There have been various studies which indicate a grave social impact of climate change, this Edited book will explore a Transformative approach towards various facets of climate action and environmental justice, inclusive of, but not limited to: exploring the current trends, theoretical frameworks, practical case studies, critical reflections, global and regional insights, etc.

Contributions from various disciplines are welcome and encouraged to foster a deeper interdisciplinary dialogue around the dynamic subject. Comparative approach towards the topic is also welcomed as the same may foster a deeper insight into various governmental and social frameworks around the world, helping us in adopting or omitting changes in our own framework as and when required.

Theme

Environmental Justice & the Right to a Sustainable Future.

The suggested sub-themes include:

  • Climate Change and its Disproportionate Impact on the Marginalized,
  • Environmental Racism and Social Inequality,
  • Environmental Justice Movements and Grassroot Advocacy,
  • Climate Refugee and Migration,
  • Biodiversity Loss and the Indigenous Claims,
  • Role of Technology in Advancing the Environmental Justice,
  • Sustainable Development Goals and Environmental Justice,
  • Corporate Responsibility and Environmental Accountability.

Contributions such as Comparative study, Interdisciplinary approach, involving case studies are particularly welcome. Creative and innovative approaches to exploring the topic are highly encouraged.

Tentative Timeline

  • Abstract Submission: 15 July, 2025,
  • Final Chapter Submission: 30 August, 2025,
  • Acceptance of Abstract will be conveyed to the author in due time.

These are the tentative timeline which authors should adhere to for ensuring a smooth process through.

Publisher

We are publishing the edited book via Walnut Publication. The publisher ensures a high visibility and academic rigor for the contributions.

Eligibility Criteria

The submissions are invited by legal scholars, students in the legal and medical field, practitioners, and policy experts to contribute to this comprehensive discourse on the emerging trends with respect to this topic.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Chapter Length: 3,000 to 6,000 words (exclusive of references).
  2. Citation Style: APA 7th edition, 12-point, Times New Roman font, 1.5 spaced.
  3. Originality and Plagiarism:
    1. The submission should be original and unpublished work of the author(s) and should not be up for consideration at any other place.
    2. Due credit must be given to the work of any author referred by the authors.
    3. Upon detection of use of any Generative AI (should be 0%) & Plagiarism beyond 10% the editors reserve the right to reject the Submissions.
  4. Co-Authorship is allowed up-to a maximum of two authors.
  5. Author’s Credentials: Kindly refer to our brochure for the same.

Submission Procedure

  • The authors are to submit an Abstract of not more than 300 words along with five keywords, detailing the proposed chapter topic. Abstracts will be reviewed and authors will be then invited to submit the full manuscript.
  • Manuscripts shall be submitted as in a MS Word format.
  • All the submissions will be made via E-Mail at: envirojustice2025@gmail.com
  • Any submission made by any other means will not be entertained.
  • Publication fee (to be paid after selection of the Abstract):
    • For a hard copy of the book, an additional cost which shall be notified.

General Notes for Authors

  • All submitted contributions should be original, unpublished work and must not be under consideration elsewhere during the review process.
  • Co-authored submissions are welcome, provided consent of all authors is obtained in advance of submission.
  • Authors of accepted chapters may be required to sign a formal publishing agreement with the publisher.
