​ These criminal appeals are preferred impugning the judgment of the

Additional Sessions Court-III, Thalassery, in S.C.No. 334 of 2011. Accused nos.1

and 3 are the appellants in Crl.Appeal No.1088/2019 and accused nos.4 to 6 are

the appellants in Crl.Appeal No.1068/2019. The appellants faced the trial before

the Sessions Court, Thalassery for the offences punishable under Sections 143,

147, 148, 341, 450, 506(2), 302 r/w 149 of the Penal Code.

​ 2. ​ The learned Sessions Judge found accused Nos.1 and 3 to 6 guilty

under Sections 143, 341, 450 and 302 r/w 149 IPC and not guilty under Section

506(ii) r/w 149 IPC. Accused nos.1 and 3 were found guilty under Section 148 IPC

and 4 to 6 under Section 147 r/w 149 IPC. Accused nos.1 and 3 were found not

guilty under Section 147 IPC and 4 to 6 under Section 148 IPC. The learned

Sessions Judge acquitted accused Nos. 2 and 7 under Sections 143, 147, 148, 341,

450, 506(ii) and 302 r/w 149 of the IPC.
