The Criminal Petition has been filed under Sections 437 and 439 of

the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (for brevity ‘the Cr.P.C.’)/ Sections

480 and 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (for brevity

‘the BNSS’), seeking to enlarge the petitioners/Accused Nos.1, 3 and 4 on

bail in Cr.No.22 of 2025 of Vatsavai Police Station, NTR District, registered

against the petitioners/Accused Nos.1, 3 and 4 herein for the offences

punishable under Section 8(c), 20 (b) (ii)(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and

Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (for brevity ‘the NDPS Act’).

2. The case of the prosecution is that on 21.01.2025 at about 08.00

hours, the Inspector of Police, Vastavai Police Station, on receipt of

credible information regarding the illegal possession and transportation of

ganja, secured the presence of mediators, and inspected the vehicles at

Chillakallu Toll Plaza and seized the two cars AP 37 BK 2277 and AP 31

BP 1679 in which the Accused Nos.1 to 4, who were travelling in the two

cars loaded with Ganja bags. The Inspector of Police apprehended the

petitioners and found in their possession 218 KGs of Ganja seized the

contraband, two cars and three key pad cell phones under a cover of

mediators’ report and arrested them.
