About the Book

The book titled, “Intellectual Property Rights in India: Innovation, Protection, and Future Trends” focuses on the importance of the protection and preservation of various intellectual properties including and not limited to trademark, design, patent, copyright, geographical indications, plant varieties, et cetera. The publication serves as an epitome of India’s timeline, growth, development, loopholes in the IP sector and bridging the gap thereof.

Key focus areas

Growth and development of Intellectual Property Rights in India: The transformation of the intention and the perspective of IP laws from the oldest Trademarks Act, 1940 or the Indian Copyright Act, 1847 to their newest laws have had a tremendous development in the IP history of India; thereby focusing on the milestones of various intellectual property rights achievements.

Comparison of Intellectual Property practices in India and foreign jurisdictions: For a proper comparison, re-defining various international jurisdictions in IPR practices is necessary. The differences in these practices help in bridging the gap between how India can improve in its IP laws and legislations.

IP litigation and measures: India has evolved its IP litigation in various ways. The filing process itself manages to rectify the majority of IP loopholes for any intellectual property registration. Nevertheless, certain issues still persist even in the online/physical filing that may be brought to attention.
