About the Book
This edited volume aims to provide a comprehensive and critical analysis of recent legislative reforms in the field of labour and industrial law. Recognizing the pivotal objective of achieving social and economic justice for the working class through updated legal frameworks, this book addresses a subject of significant contemporary relevance to scholars, practitioners, and policymakers alike.
Approximately five years ago, India undertook a landmark codification of its labour laws, consolidating numerous statutes into four comprehensive codes. This transformative effort sought to modernize the regulatory framework in response to the evolving dynamics of work and workplaces. This publication is envisioned as the first volume of a two-part series. Volume I will focus specifically on two major labour codes:
- The Industrial Relations Code, 2020
- The Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020
We invite original and unpublished contributions that critically engage with various aspects of these two Codes.
