About the Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR)
The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR) was established under the aegis of the National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal in 2024, following its evolution from the Alternative Dispute Resolution Cell founded in 2007. Since its inception, the Cell has stood as a testament to the dynamic transformation of dispute resolution mechanisms in India and beyond.
Operating within one of the country’s premier law universities, the Centre has been shaped by a lineage of committed, talented, and visionary student leaders. Their efforts have positioned it at the forefront of the evolving alternative dispute resolution (ADR) ecosystem, both nationally and globally.
The elevation of the Cell to a full-fledged Centre marked a significant expansion in its scope and activities. The Centre now aims to foster cutting-edge research, facilitate skill development, and promote policy dialogue in arbitration, mediation, negotiation, and other ADR mechanisms. It serves as a vibrant platform for scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to collaboratively advance the practice and understanding of dispute resolution in India and on the global stage.
About the CADR Blog Series
The CADR Blog is an initiative of the Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution, National Law Institute University, Bhopal, aimed at fostering critical engagement and informed dialogue in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). The blog serves as an interactive platform for students, academics, and practitioners to explore contemporary developments and nuanced perspectives in dispute resolution.
The themes explored on the blog include, but are not limited to, Mediation, Negotiation, and Arbitration, with a focus on both domestic and international developments. By encouraging contributions that blend theoretical analysis with practical insight, the blog seeks to bridge the gap between academic discourse and real-world application in ADR.
We welcome submissions under the following categories:
- Articles – In-depth analysis of substantive and procedural issues in ADR
- Opinions – Personal viewpoints on emerging trends or unresolved questions
- Case Comments – Critical assessment of recent or landmark judgments
- Short Notes – Concise evaluations of legislative or institutional developments
Eligibility
We welcome contributions from students, researchers, practitioners, and academicians. Submissions should reflect strong legal reasoning, clarity of thought, and contemporary relevance to the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Submission Guidelines
- The submission must be original and not plagiarized from any source. Submissions having a plagiarism more than 10% will be rejected.
- An abstract of 80–100 words summarizing the article must be included at the beginning of the manuscript.
- The ideal word limit for the article is not more than 1500 words, excluding the abstract and endnotes. However, flexibility may be allowed at the sole discretion of the Editorial Board, depending on the nature and quality of the content.
- Co-authorship is permitted up to a maximum of two authors.
- The title of the manuscript must not exceed 12 words.
- The manuscript should be sent to adrc.nliu@gmail.com with the subject line: “NLIU-ADRC Blog Submission”.
- The Editorial Board reserves the right to suggest edits or reject submissions without detailed feedback.
Formatting Requirements
- Submissions must be made in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.
- Font: Times New Roman
- Font size: 12-point
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Text alignment: Justified
- All sources must be duly acknowledged and hyperlinked within the text.
- Endnotes may be used where necessary. In such cases, a uniform citation style must be followed (preferably Bluebook).
How to Submit?
Interested authors can submit their entries by sending the manuscript in Word format to the Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution at adrc.nliu@gmail.com with the subject line: “NLIU-ADRC Blog Submission.”
Deadline
Submissions to the CADR Blog are accepted on a rolling basis. Entries sent via any platform other than email will not be considered.
