About the Conference
The Postgraduate Department of Law, Gauhati University, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is set to host an International Conference on “Environment and Sustainable Development: Addressing Global Challenges through Collaborative Action” on the 18th and 19th of September, 2025.
This high-impact conference offers a robust platform for legal scholars, researchers, practitioners, and policy experts to delve into critical environmental issues and sustainable development goals (SDGs). Aligned with India’s constitutional commitment to environmental protection and the global SDG framework, the event is especially focused on goals such as:
- SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation
- SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy
- SDG 12 – Sustainable Consumption and Production
- SDG 13 – Climate Action
- SDG 15 – Life on Land
Objectives
The conference aims to:
- Examine legal frameworks, both national and international, for environmental protection.
- Promote strategies that balance economic development and environmental sustainability.

Submission Guidelines
- Abstract: Max 300 words with 4 keywords (in italics).
- Full Paper: 3000–5000 words (excluding footnotes, ILI Style).
- Co-authorship: Max two. Separate registration is required.
- Plagiarism: Strictly not allowed.
