The Animal Law Cell, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, is organizing a significant academic conference titled “FROM SILENCE TO SENTIENCE: REIMAGINING JUSTICE FOR FARMED ANIMALS”.

Distinguished Panel of Experts
- Advocate Varnika Singh, Legal Head at Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organizations (FIAPO). With 15 years of legal experience, she holds LL.M.s in Animal Law from Lewis & Clark Law School, Portland, and National Law University, Bhopal. Her distinguished career includes major litigation victories on street dog welfare, illegal dog fighting, Jallikattu, and circus animal bans, alongside significant contributions to policy reform, legal training, and advocacy.
- Ms. Astha Gaur, Senior Policy Specialist and Regulatory Affairs Specialist at The Good Food Institute India. She leads cutting-edge efforts to develop science-based regulations for smart protein, working directly with FSSAI and other regulatory bodies to shape policies that balance innovation with safety. Her work involves guiding startups, drafting policy recommendations, and creating accessible resources that bridge scientific progress with comprehensive legal frameworks for sustainable food systems.
- Professor (Dr.) Anju Vali Tikoo, Dean of Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, providing institutional leadership and academic perspective.
