Dalmia Cement (North East) Limited has filed a writ petition before the Guwahati High Court against the assessment orders passed by the National Faceless Assessment Center, Income Tax Department for AY 2022- 23 and 2023-24, raising a demand of ₹55.56 cr. and ₹53 cr., respectively.
The cement company has moved the petition on the ground that it was not provided a proper opportunity to be heard.”Since the company was not afforded a proper opportunity to present its position during the proceedings, there was a clear breach of principles of natural justice,” said the Company in their regulatory filing.
The company believes that it has a strong case on merits since the underlying issues are well supported by legal precedents and factual evidence.
