3. By way of the present petitions, the parties are seeking quashing of
cross FIRs bearing no. 66/2019 and 67/2019, both dated 17.02.2019,
registered at Police Station Sarita Vihar, Delhi for the offences punishable
under Sections 323/308/325/341/354-B/509/34 of Indian Penal Code, 1860
(hereafter ‘IPC‘).
4. The parties have appeared before this Court in person. They have
been identified by their respective counsels and concerned Investigating
Officer (IO) from Police Station Sarita Vihar, Delhi. It is stated that the
complainant in FIR No. 67/2019 has unfortunately passed away. However,
appropriate affidavits have been filed by his daughter and son namely Kavita
and Dinesh Kumar, who are the legal heirs of the deceased and have stated
that they are the only legal heirs of the deceased and have voluntarily
entered into a settlement between themselves and the petitioners.
5. Briefly stated, facts of the present case are that on 15.02.2019, a
scuffle had taken place between the parties and a complaint dated

matter vide Memorandum of Understanding, dated 22.04.2025, entered
between them.
7. On a query made by this Court, the complainants in both the FIRs,
who have been identified by the concerned IO, have categorically stated that
they have entered into compromise out of their own free will and without
any pressure, coercion or threat. It is also stated that the entire dispute has
been amicably settled between the parties. They further state that they have
no objection if both these FIRs are quashed.
8. In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their
differences of their own free will, without any coercion and no useful
purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would
create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice
to quash the abovementioned FIRs and the proceedings pursuant thereto.
There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIRs in question.
9. Accordingly, FIRs bearing no. 66/2019 and 67/2019, both dated
17.02.2019, registered at Police Station Sarita Vihar, Delhi for the offences
punishable under Sections 323/308/325/341/354-B/509/34 of IPC and all
consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
10. In view of the above, the petitions stand disposed of.
