Delhi-based law firm Dugal, Grewal & Partners has announced the strategic merger of TMT Law Practice’s litigation division, effective August 1, 2025. This consolidation brings over 500 active cases and an entire litigation client portfolio under the wing of Dugal, Grewal & Partners, along with six seasoned litigators, marking a significant expansion of the firm’s dispute resolution capabilities.

The consolidation comes shortly after a structural pivot at TMT Law Practice following managing partner Abhishek Malhotra’s appointment as a Senior Advocate by the Supreme Court in December 2024—a prestigious recognition that tends to lead to reshuffles in the lawyer’s active practice due to regulatory and ethical considerations.

The integration brings senior partner Sonal Chhablani to Dugal, Grewal & Partners. Chhablani brings over ten years of specialized experience in media and entertainment disputes, trademark and copyright litigation, and transactional work.

The merger reunites Angad Dugal with his former colleagues from TMT Law Practice, where he was a partner before co-founding Dugal, Grewal & Partners.

Founded by Angad Dugal and Govind Grewal in 2017, the firm focuses complex commercial litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters, with specialisation in corporate and intellectual property disputes, particularly in the fast-evolving sectors of media, telecommunications, and technology.

Vartika Malhotra, CEO of TMT Law Practice, described the merger as a carefully considered move prioritizing client interests and continuity for the litigation team. “Most of the clients have longstanding associations with Angad, which facilitated trust and a seamless transition. While it is difficult to part with the litigation practice, the priority remains to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality service to clients,” she said.

Looking ahead, Govind Grewal expressed optimism: “This merger accelerates our growth trajectory, offering a robust platform for scaling our dynamic practice. We look forward to deepening the relationships forged with TMT Law Practice clients and continuing to deliver top-tier legal solutions tailored to the evolving needs of India’s technology and media sectors.”
