Tell us about the infrastructure of your law college
While talking about infrastructure, I must admire our faculty. Though we don’t have AC in our classes, the ventilation system is so good that it easily handles the heat and summers of July and August. There are two full-fledged libraries, and we also have access to a digital library/database (LexisNexis Advance, SCC Online, etc.).
Football ground, volleyball court, cricket ground, badminton court, etc., are also available. Free gym access is provided to university students. There are two hostels each for boys and girls.

How are the academic culture and faculty in your college?
We have around 40 faculty members along with some guest faculty for BA subjects. And like all universities, here too you have to do self-study.
Teachers are good, but don’t expect much from them. 75% attendance is mandatory, but you can get internship leave, so don’t worry. The class timing is a bit awkward—11 AM to 1 PM, with 3 to 4 classes per day.
How’s the peer quality in your college? Rate it on a scale of 5 with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest.
You just have to find the right peer group—then your college life is 80% sorted. Distractions are everywhere, but in general, the crowd here is really competitive and hardworking.
Moreover, the alumni base of the law faculty is the best thing you can ever get. We have seniors in every sector, and they are extremely supportive. For example, we have around 15+ judges from Lucknow University out of the 20+ judge bench in the Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench. This is why getting internships is very easy here.

Tell us about the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities
There are 10+ committees and societies in our law faculty, namely:
- Pro Bono Club
- Legal Aid Clinic
- Moot Court Committee
- Lucknow University Cultural and Sports Committee (LUCSC)
- ADR, Drafting & Literary Society
- Centre for Family Affairs and Women Empowerment
- Departmental Student Grievance Redressal Committee (DSGRC)
- Departmental Placement Cell
- Gender Sensitisation Cell
- NSS Program
- Rovers & Rangers
- IQAC Committee, etc.
These include not only legal but also social, cultural, and sports committees, which provide us with a wide range of opportunities and contribute to our overall development.
LUCSC’s Sanskriti Surbhi is one of the major fests of our university, centered around cultural and sports events. Moreover, inter-faculty and inter-hostel events are also organized by the university.
How are the placements in your college?
The Placement Committee was founded last year and managed to secure around 10+ placements. This is mainly because most students here are generally more interested in the judiciary or litigation field.
How are the hostels in your college?
There are around 15+ hostels in our university, out of which 2 are exclusively for law students (one for girls and one for boys). Additionally, there is a cross-departmental girls’ hostel as well.
In general, the hostels are clean, and facilities like Wi-Fi, washing machines, mess food, RO water, single-seater rooms, playground, gym, etc., are available. The number of vacancies isn’t fixed, but around 20 seats are allotted to newcomers each year based on their rank and category.
What are the best things you like about your college?
Our strong alumni base and flexible attendance policy allow us to explore multiple fields, which ultimately helps us choose the right career path.
In your opinion, what are bad things about your college?
Location-wise, it’s not too bad, not just because it’s on the outskirts of Lucknow, which is still manageable.
However, it can feel inconvenient at times due to the lack of proper metro connectivity, unlike the old campus. The real issue arises when it comes to paperwork. We often have to go to the old campus for that.
Major events like Foundation Day celebrations or visits by public figures also take place at the old campus, which sometimes makes us feel a bit left out.
Anything else you want to share?
It’s not anything specific, but if you don’t get your desired NLU, consider taking admission here. You’ll get enough time to prepare again, and even if by any chance you don’t make it next time either, you won’t be at a loss.
