About the University
Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab was established by the State Legislature of Punjab by passing the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab Act 2006 (Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006). The Act incorporated a university of Law of national stature in Punjab, to fulfil the need for a Centre of Excellence in legal education in the modern era of globalization and liberalization.
About the FDP
This Faculty Development Program (FDP) on legal research methodology aims to enhance skills of academicians in conducting and understanding research, improve their teaching abilities, and foster a more research-oriented environment.
The core objectives include updating faculty on the latest legal and multi-disciplinary education developments, understanding and applying research methodology, improving research and publication skills, enhancing teaching methodologies and assessment techniques, developing interdisciplinary learning and collaboration and fostering continuous professional development.
Learning Outcome
The Faculty Development Program (FDP) will equip faculty members with the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct effective legal research, including identifying research gap, research questions, formulating hypotheses, conducting comprehensive literature reviews and using various data analysis techniques, including statistical software like SPSS and selecting appropriate research methods.
Participants will learn how to develop well-structured and compelling research proposals, which is crucial for securing funding and conducting impactful research. It will enable the participants to write high-quality research papers and articles for publication in academic journals and conferences. It will keep the faculty abreast of the latest trends and innovations in legal and multi – disciplinary education, ensuring they are well-equipped to deliver engaging and relevant courses.
Participants will explore new and innovative teaching methods, including case studies, simulations, and interactive learning techniques, to improve student engagement and learning outcomes. It will encourage participants to collaborate and learn from experts in related fields, promoting a more holistic understanding of legal issues and the way forward.
