The Court made the following:
ORDER:
This Criminal Petition, under Sections 480 and 483 of the
Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, has been filed by the

pet’lt-loner/A1, seeking bail, in Crime No.222/2024 of V.Madugula Police
station, Anakapal[e District.
2. A case has been registered against the petitioner and Others for
the offences under –Sections 20(b)(ii)(B), 25 read with 8(c) of the
Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
3. Case of the prosecution, in brief, is that on 12.ll,2024 at 4.00pm,
on receipt of credible information regarding illegal possession and
transportation of ganja, the S.I of Police, along with staff, reached BT
Road (Paderu to Visakhapatnam) outskirts of Sagaram village and
started conducting vehicle checking. They found one Auto bearing
registration no.AP 31 TC 1700 coming towards ghat road side. On
seeing police, the inmates in the Auto stopped the Auto and escaped.
Then police searched the Auto and found 12kgs of ganja. The
contraband was seized and on 10.4.2025 accused was arrested and
remanded to judicial custody.
4. Heard learned counsel forthe Petitioner and the learned Assistant
public prosecutor for respondent-State. Perused the record,
5. Leamed Assistant Public Prosecutor submits that majOrPartOfthe
investigation is completed except filing of charge sheet.

6. A perusal of the material available on record goes to showthat the
contraband that was allegedly seI-Zed from the Auto was 12 kgs of ganja
which is not a commercial quantity. The petitioner was arrested on
10.4.2025 and since then, the petitioner has been in judicI-al remand. It
appears that major Part Of the I-nVeStigatiOn has been completed except
filing of charge sheet.
7. In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, this
Court is inclined to grant bail to the petitioner hereI-n, On the following
conditions.
(i) The petitioner/Al herein shall be released on his executI’ng a
Personal bond for Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) with
two sureties for a like sum each to the satisfaction of the learned I
Additional DI’StrjCt and Sessions Judge, Visakhapatnam,-
(ii) On release, the petitioner shall appear before the station
House Officer concerned once in a week i.e. on every sunday
between 10.00 a.m. and o5.00 p.m., till filing of charge sheet.
8. Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is allowed.
