Sonipat, August 2, 2025: Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Law University (DBRANLU) marked a new chapter by welcoming its 7th Batch of B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) students (2025–2030) at the Deeksharambh Induction Program, inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice M.M. Sundresh, Judge, Supreme Court of India.
This year’s induction ceremony holds special significance as it is the first after Prof. (Dr.) Devinder Singh assumed office as Vice Chancellor. The event, attended by Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Mishra, eminent judges, faculty members, and dignitaries, began with the auspicious lighting of the lamp and the university’s Kulgeet, setting a dignified tone for the day.
Vice Chancellor’s Vision for New Batch
In his opening address, Prof. (Dr.) Devinder Singh described DBRANLU as “a crucible where intellect is forged into advocacy and character is tempered by service.” He urged students to embrace both academic excellence and social responsibility, cultivating a campus culture where every contribution is valued and aspirations are nurtured.

Justice A.P. Sahi: Law with a Social Conscience
Justice A.P. Sahi, President of the National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission and former Chief Justice of Madras and Patna High Courts, spoke on the evolution of corporate law, urging students to remember that behind every contract lies a human story. Quoting Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and John F. Kennedy, he encouraged them to see crises as opportunities and to actively serve society, much like Florence Nightingale.
Justice Arun Monga: Dedication and Humility in Legal Practice
Justice Arun Monga of the Delhi High Court explained the significance of Deeksharambh as the “beginning of dedication” in the discipline of law. Narrating anecdotes of legal luminaries, he encouraged persistence, humility, and grace, reminding students to “seek God in justice, not in judges.”
Justice Ashok Kumar Jain: Integrity is the Rudder of the Legal Ship
Justice Ashok Kumar Jain of the Rajasthan High Court reflected on his first court appearance, stressing that a learned mind without integrity is like “a ship without a rudder.” He highlighted the importance of ethical conduct, mastery of emerging legal technologies, and preserving client relationships.
