The Dr. Ambedkar Chair in Social Justice at the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) was established in 2004 by the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. It is part of a broader initiative, recommended in 1992, to set up subject-specific Dr. Ambedkar Chairs in various institutions.
Serving as a center for learning and policy research. The Chair explores Dr. Ambedkar’s philosophy, governance, and socio-economic issues affecting Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Minorities, Backward Classes, and other marginalized groups. The Chair aligns with IIPA’s mission to inform policy and governance while promoting social justice.
