About the Organiser / College / University

Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ), established in 2011 under an Act of the State Legislature of Rajasthan, is a part of the prestigious Manipal Education Group with over 71 years of excellence in higher education. MUJ boasts state-of-the-art research facilities, a modern digital library, and more than 9100 enrolled students. The Faculty of Law offers BA LLB (Hons.), BBA LLB (Hons.), LLB, LLM, and Ph.D. programs, designed in line with UGC, NEP, and BCI regulations. The ADR Cell promotes alternative dispute resolution methods and skill-based legal education.

About the Event

The 3rd Edition of the International Negotiation Competition aims to provide a platform for law students worldwide to hone their negotiation skills, reflecting the growing preference for cost-effective dispute resolution methods over litigation. Participants will represent both clients and negotiation counsels, tackling realistic scenarios and developing communication, strategy, and legal skills.

Who is it for / Eligibility

  • Open to students currently enrolled in a three-year or five-year integrated law degree program at any recognised law school/college/university.
  • Postgraduate (LL.M.) students, diploma/certificate course students, and part-time law students are not eligible.
  • Each team must consist of two members – one Client and one Negotiating Counsel.
  • A maximum of two teams per institute is allowed.

Virtual Mode – Hosted from Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.

Registration / Submission Procedure

  • Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis (only 26 teams will be accepted).
  • Final registration is confirmed after selection by the organising committee and payment of fees.
  • After payment verification, teams will receive their Team Code.

Fee Details

  • Indian Participants: ₹3,500 per team
  • Foreign Participants: USD 45 per team
  • Non-refundable once paid.

Prizes

  • Winner: ₹20,000 Cash Prize + Trophy + Certificate (for both members)
  • Runner-up: ₹10,000 Cash Prize + Trophy + Certificate (for both members)
  • Best Counsel: Trophy + Certificate
  • Best Client: Trophy + Certificate
  • Certificates of merit for all participants.

Deadlines / Important Dates

  • Event Dates: 04–05 September 2025
  • Registration will close once 26 teams are confirmed.
  • Negotiation propositions will be sent prior to the competition; confidential information will be provided 30 minutes before each round.
  • Final registration with payment: 31.08.2025

Competition Format

  • Preliminary Round → Quarter-Finals → Semi-Finals → Finals
  • Four negotiation problems (different for each round)
  • Evaluation based on individual performance of both Client and Counsel (max 100 marks each)
