About the Symposium
In the wake of escalating environmental degradation, climate emergencies, and legal reforms, there is an urgent need for a multidisciplinary discourse on environmental law. The Indian legal system has evolved through constitutional mandates, legislative enactments, and a proactive judiciary to respond to ecological challenges. However, gaps in enforcement, emerging environmental crimes, and socio-economic inequalities necessitate a re-evaluation of existing frameworks.
This 1st IILM Symposium on Environmental Law seeks to provide a vibrant platform for legal scholars, practitioners, students, policymakers, and civil society members to engage in scholarly deliberations, interactive workshops, and creative activities that highlight legal, policy, and grassroots dimensions of environmental protection.
