First-Day Formalities, Infrastructure, and First Impression
As it was an online internship, we had an orientation session where we introduced ourselves, and then the team introduced themselves. They spoke about the organization’s mission and vision, as well as their expectations from us.
They also explained the plan of action, how we would proceed with the internship, and the tasks we would undertake. Essentially, they provided us with a roadmap outlining how we were expected to complete our assignments.
Main Tasks
During the course of this internship, I authored two in-depth research articles on pressing legal issues, focusing on the Uniform Civil Code and the Juvenile Justice System. Each article involved rigorous research, critical reasoning, and proper citation of laws, case precedents, and scholarly opinions.
In addition to the articles, I independently conducted a case law analysis, applying legal principles to real-life judicial reasoning, which helped me better understand courtroom perspectives and the nuances of statutory interpretation. The internship concluded with a video presentation where I explained my research findings in a concise and structured format, allowing me to build on my public speaking and presentation skills.
This experience not only deepened my legal knowledge but also strengthened my ability to present complex legal ideas in a simplified and engaging manner.
Work Environment
The work environment during the internship was intellectually stimulating and supportive. We worked under the guidance of experienced mentors who provided timely feedback and encouraged independent thinking.
Regular discussions and review sessions created a collaborative atmosphere where ideas were freely exchanged. The team was approachable, and the overall environment promoted both academic growth and professional discipline. Deadlines were respected, yet flexibility was offered when needed.
This balance of structure and openness made the internship not only productive but also enjoyable and enriching from both a learning and networking perspective.
Good Things about the Internship
One of the best aspects of the internship was the detailed and constructive feedback provided on every task. Each article and case analysis was reviewed thoroughly, with comments highlighting strengths and suggesting areas for improvement.
This personalized feedback helped me refine my writing, improve my legal reasoning, and gain clarity on complex concepts. The mentors were approachable and always willing to guide us, creating a positive, growth-oriented experience throughout the internship
Bad Things about the Internship
There were no significant drawbacks, but I feel they could have avoided charging a publication fee. If they had to charge, it could have been a minimal amount, like ₹100.
Monthly Stipend
None
Details about the Accommodation, Commuting to the Office
Since it was an online internship, there were no accommodation or transportation issues.
Anything else you want to share?
I particularly liked the detailed feedback provided after every task. They pointed out the main strengths of my writing and highlighted what I missed, explaining how I could improve my work.
All my articles, case analysis, and video presentation were reviewed and prepared for publication, but I couldn’t afford to pay the fee, which is why my paper was not published.
