About the Programme
As part of its mandate under Section 49 of the Competition Act, 2002, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) regularly organizes outreach and training activities for various stakeholders. Students of Law, Economics, Management, and Finance form a key focus group in these initiatives.
The CCI Internship Programme is designed to provide students with hands-on exposure to the practical application of Competition Law. Given the CCI’s significant role as a market regulator, the internship helps students develop a nuanced understanding of competition law and its relevance to the Indian economy. The programme consistently attracts top talent from leading institutions across the country.
Eligibility Criteria

Open to Indian nationals only.

Available to students enrolled in recognized Indian institutions/universities with prior exposure to Competition Law.

Students who already have placement offers are not eligible.

Application Process

Applicants must use the prescribed format in the Annexure; other formats will not be accepted.

The application must include a recommendation from a competent authority of the student’s institution. Applications without this will be rejected.

A Statement of Purpose (~200 words) must be included, outlining the topic and objectives of the proposed study.

The deadline for applications is the 1st of the month preceding the internship month (e.g., apply by 1st November for a December internship).

Stipend
Selected interns will receive an honorarium of ₹15,000 per month.
Duration
The standard duration is one month, beginning on the first working day of the month.
However, applicants may request to intern for 2–3 consecutive months with appropriate approval and recommendation from their institution.
