About the Internship

VERDICT CHRONICLES invites applications for its internship program, offering law students an opportunity to enhance their research, writing, and analytical skills. Interns will engage in case summarizing, legal research, and content development for publication on the platform.

Eligibility

  • Must be a bonafide student pursuing law (3-year course or 5-year integrated course) from an institute recognized by the Bar Council of India.
  • Strong research and legal writing skills.
  • Familiarity with citation standards and case law interpretation.
  • Prior experience in legal writing/publication is preferred but not mandatory.

Duration & Mode

  • Duration: 1 month (June)
  • Mode: Online

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of landmark and contemporary judgments.
  • Draft well-researched case summaries and opinion pieces.
  • Assist in legal research on topics related to judicial trends and precedent.
  • Ensure accuracy, originality, and compliance with citation standards.
  • Collaborate with editors for content refinement and publication.

Interested candidates must submit:

  • A short cover letter expressing their interest.
  • CV highlighting relevant experience.
  • sample case summary of any recent judgment from either the Supreme Court or Allahabad High Court. The case summary should range between 500 words to 1500 words (depending on the length of the original judgment) and include:
    • Case Name
    • Case Citation/Case Number
    • Judges
    • Bench
    • Counsels
    • Facts
    • Issues
    • Arguments of both parties
    • Held

Outcome

By the end of this internship, students will develop:

  • The skill of deducing and interpreting judgments, along with applying legal principles in the judicial world.
  • Strong research and legal writing skills, including the ability to craft engaging and informative case summaries.
