UPON hearing the counsel the Court made the following
O R D E R
IA No. 120129/2025 in SLP(Crl.) Nos. 188-190/2025
The applicant/petitioner – Roop Singh was convicted and
sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for life by the Additional
Sessions Judge, Gadarwara District Narsinghpur, Madhya Pradesh in
Sessions Trial No.120/2002 for the offences punishable under
Sections 148, 302/149, 307/149 of the Indian Penal Code which has
been affirmed by the High Court on appeal. Being aggrieved, he
approached this Court. Presently he is in jail.
Heard learned counsel for the applicant(s)/petitioner(s) and
the respondent(s)- State of Madhya Pradesh.
It is informed at the Bar that the wife of the
applicant/petitioner – Roop Singh has passed away on 04.05.2025.
For this reason an application for interim bail (IA No.120129/2025)
to this effect has been filed. It is a fact which is admitted by
the learned counsel appearing for the State of Madhya Pradesh.
Considering the facts and circumstances, we direct that the
applicant/petitioner – Roop Singh is directed to be released on
interim bail for a period of two weeks from today forthwith on the
usual terms and conditions to be decided by the concerned Court.
The applicant/petitioner – Roop Singh shall surrender
positively on or before 30.05.2025 before the Court concerned.
Accordingly, IA No. 120129/2025 is allowed.
List the main matters on 08.07.2025.
