Saraf and Partners and international firm Cooley served as legal counsel to Jeh Aerospace, an Atlanta-headquartered aerospace manufacturing startup operating from Hyderabad, in securing $11 million in its Series A funding round. The round was led by Elevation Capital, with participation from existing investor General Catalyst and Indigo Ventures, the venture arm of InterGlobe Aviation Limited (IndiGo).
Elevation and General Catalyst were advised by Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. in India and Goodwin Procter in the U.S.
The capital injection will enable Jeh Aerospace to scale its manufacturing facilities, establish new factories, and grow its workforce. The company has also locked in long-term commercial contracts worth $100 million with global aerospace players, on which Saraf and Partners provided legal advice covering negotiation and finalization.
The aerospace manufacturing sector in India is rapidly expanding, driven by government initiatives such as Make in India and rising global outsourcing demand. The domestic aerospace market is projected to grow at a CAGR of over 13 percent between 2023 and 2030, reaching an estimated $95 billion by 2030. Investments in startups like Jeh Aerospace reflect increasing investor confidence amid growing demand for advanced manufacturing capabilities and indigenous production. Cross-border deals and funding rounds in aerospace tech startups have soared by over 40 percent year-on-year in 2024, underscoring strong momentum in this strategic sector.
