Former judge of Madras high court Justice N Seshasayee has been appointed judicial member of National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT).

The oath-taking ceremony of Justice Seshasayee, along with Justice Mohammed Faiz Alam Khan, will be held on Friday in the courtroom of NCLAT chairperson in New Delhi.

A native of Nagercoil, Seshasayee was born on Jan 8, 1963. He graduated in Economics from Scott Christian College, Nagercoil. He obtained law degree in 1986 from Madras Law College. Following in his father’s footsteps, he joined law at Madras Law College. On Sept 10, 1986, he enrolled as an advocate and joined the office of the late N Chidamabarakrishnan.

He joined the TN judicial services as a district judge on June 6, 2004, and was posted at Chengalpet. Between 2009 and 2011, he served as the Registrar (Judicial) of the HC’s Madurai bench. On Nov 16, 2016, he was elevated as an additional judge of HC and was made permanent on Nov 2, 2018. He demitted office on Jan 8 this year.
