1. The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying as
under:
“a) Issue writ, order, direction in the nature of mandamus and
prohibition thereby directing the Respondent No.2/ Land Acquisition
Collector, North, Delhi to refer the issue of apportionment of
compensation qua the land comprising in Khasra numbers 936/1 (1-
16), 936/2(4-14), 941/1(4-0), at village Siraspur Delhi acquired vide
award No.1/2015-16, to the Civil Court/ Competent Authority and
further prohibiting the respondent no.2/ Land Acquisition Collector
from releasing the compensation.”
2. Mr Panda, the learned counsel for the respondent states that he has
been informed that a reference has been made under Sections 76 and 77 of
the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition,
Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, which are pari materia to
Sections 30 and 31 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894. He states that if the
said information is correct then the present petition would not survive.
