1. We have heard the learned Advocate General, Punjab at a
considerable length.
2. The affidavits filed by the Chief Secretary, Punjab and
Director General of Punjab have also been perused.

4. Mr. Tushar Mehta, learned Solicitor General of India is
representing the State of Haryana. His view point has also been
taken into consideration.

5. All that we wish to say, as of now, is that we are not
satisfied with the efforts so far made by the Government of Punjab
towards compliance of our orders, especially the order dated
20-12-2024.
6. However, having regard to the assurance given by learned
Advocate General and both the officers, we are inclined to grant
more time to take appropriate steps in furtherance of the
directions issued from time to time. In this regard, it is further
clarified that if the State of Punjab requires any assistance, we
direct the Union of India to provide the requisite logistical
support to the authorities of the State of Punjab for the purpose
of compliance of our directions.
7. Post the matter on 31-12-2024.
8. The Chief Secretary and the Director General of Punjab, both,
will file their respective compliance affidavits a day before the
next date of hearing.
