Heard Mr. M. Hemchandra, learned senior counsel assisted
by Mr. M. Rendy, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and
Mrs. L. Monomala, learned GA appearing for the respondents.
[2] At the outset, learned senior counsel appearing for the
petitioners submitted that in paragraph No. 9 and 10 of the affidavit-in-
opposition filed on behalf of respondent No.2, it has been, inter alia,
stated that the process for final absorption in respect of the two
petitioners had already been taken up both at the Directorate of
University and Higher Education, Manipur and at the Administrative
Department level and the same shall be finalized as and when the
Finance Department (PIC), Government of Manipur take a final
decision.
[3] It has also been stated that in view of the Office
Memorandum dated 11-12-2023, issued by the Finance Department,
Government of Manipur, the matter could not be proceeded further by
the Administrative Department as the Finance Department has sought

a detail report on the matter and as and when the Finance Department
take a final decision, the matter will be proceeded accordingly.
[4] The learned senior counsel further submitted that the
present writ petition can be disposed of by directing the respondents to
expedite the process for final decision in terms of the averments made
in paragraph No. 9 & 10 of the aforesaid affidavit-in-opposition as
expeditiously as possible and issue appropriate orders in respect of the
present petitioners.
[5] Mrs. L. Monomala, learned GA appearing for the
respondents submitted that in view of the limited prayer made on
behalf of the petitioners, she has no objection in disposing of the said
petition as sought for by the learned senior counsel for the petitioners.
[6] Taking into consideration the submission advanced by the
counsel appearing for the parties, this Court is of the considered view
that interest of justice will be served by directing the respondents to
consider and take a final decision in terms of the averments made in
paragraph No. 9 and 10 of the affidavit-in-opposition filed on behalf of
respondent No. 2 as expeditiously as possible and pass appropriate
orders in respect of the present petitioners.
[7] Ordered accordingly.
[8] With the aforesaid directions, the present writ petition is
disposed of.
