2. The case of the prosecution is that, on 23.06.2025 at about 21:36
hours, at Koneru Center, Machilipatnam, an incident occurred which was
reported by the complainant on 24.06.2025 at 18:30 hours. The complainant
stated that the marriage of her son with Arunadevi was solemnized on
17.04.2019. Subsequently, disputes arose between them, and prior to the
present incident, certain cases had already been filed, which are pending
before the Court. On the date of the incident, while returning from a shop
where they had gone to weigh gold for the purpose of reaching a settlement in
the presence of mediators, the accused along with others approached her
son-in-law’s bike, pulled out the vehicle’s plug to prevent it from starting,
physically assaulted her, pushed her aside, verbally abused her daughter,
snatched a bag containing gold ornaments, silver articles and cash of
₹5,00,000, and fled from the scene. It is further alleged that Arunadevi and
Adilakshmi abused the complainant and her daughter in filthy language,
forcibly grabbed her daughter’s hair, snatched away a six-kasula gold chain
from her neck, pushed them aside, and threatened to kill them. The total
property lost was 38 kasulu of gold, silver, and cash, all worth about
₹19,28,000/-. Thereupon, the complainant approached the police station and
lodged a report for necessary action. Hence, a case was registered and FIR
was issued.
