1. This is a petition for initiation of contempt proceedings against the
respondents for their willful disobedience and non-compliance of
order dated 16.07.2018 passed by this Court in PIL No. 9/2015.
2. In response to the notice issued, the respondents have filed
objections/statement of facts, wherein, it has been submitted by the
respondents that with the coming into force of the Jammu and
Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, the Jammu and Kashmir
Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2013 and
the rules framed thereunder, stand repealed and replaced by the new
Act.
3. It has been further submitted that the Juvenile Justice (Care and
Protection of Children) Act, 2015 which is now applicable to the
UT of J & K does not envisage the Constitution of Selection-cum-
Oversight Committee and the Selection Committee as required by
the new law is already in position.

4. In view of the aforesaid objections/statement of facts, there is no
point in keeping the contempt proceedings pending in this Court.
As such, the proceedings in the contempt petition are closed.
