Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Law University (DBRANLU), Sonepat, Haryana is organizing a National Conference on “One Nation, One Election: Constitutional, Federal, and Democratic Dimensions” on 6–7 September 2025.
About the Institution
Established by the Government of Haryana in 2012, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Law University (DBRANLU) is a premier institution dedicated to advancing constitutional values and legal education. Strategically located near Delhi, the university is equipped with a modern, eco-friendly campus, eleven specialized research centres, legal aid initiatives, and international collaborations with institutions such as the University of Waikato, New Zealand.
Guided by eminent jurists including the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India (Visitor) and the Hon’ble Governor of Haryana (Chancellor), DBRANLU continues to uphold Dr. Ambedkar’s vision of law as an instrument of social transformation.

About the Conference
The idea of One Nation, One Election—revived through the Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty-ninth Amendment) Bill, 2024—seeks to synchronize elections to the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies. This conference aims to provide a platform for academicians, legal scholars, policymakers, students, and researchers to critically examine the constitutional, federal, political, and democratic aspects of this reform.
Objectives of the Conference
- To critically examine the constitutional validity of the proposed amendments for implementing ‘One Nation, One Election ‘.
- To assess the impact on India’s federal structure
- To analyse the functioning of the parliamentary system under synchronized election cycles.
- To explore the effectiveness of civic engagement and voter participation under a unified electoral schedule.

Submission Guidelines
- Scholars, researchers, legal professionals, policymakers, and students are invited to submit original research papers related to the above subthemes.
- The abstract must be 300-500 words and outline the methodology and tentative outcomes of the paper. It should contain 4-5 keywords.
- The word limit for the full paper submission is 3000 words. The file must be in Microsoft Word editable format (.doc/.docx).
- The citation style to be followed is the Harvard Bluebook 21st edition.
- Font: Times New Roman, Size: 12, Line Spacing: 1.5, Alignment: Justified
- Title must be of font size 14, Times New Roman and Bold
General Guidelines
- Submission must be an original work of the author(s).
- A maximum of two authors is allowed per paper. Registration is required separately for every author.
- A self-declaration must be submitted along with the full paper stating that the paper is an original work of the author(s) and that it has not been published/sent for publication anywhere else.
- Selected Manuscripts will be invited for presentation.
- Presenters are required to submit their PowerPoint presentations along with the full paper.
- The details filled in during the registration process shall be used for certification purposes. No request for change will be entertained later.
Participation & Registration
- The conference shall be held in a hybrid mode.

- Category A: Academicians / Professionals– ₹2000
- Category B: Research/PHD Scholars & Students – ₹500
- Registration fee for offline participants doesn’t include boarding and logistical charges
- No request for refund shall be entertained after the payment of registration fees
