Tell us about the infrastructure of your law college
The Delhi campus of my university is relatively small in size but beautifully maintained, with plenty of trees and greenery. Despite its compact area, it offers all the essential facilities a student might need. The classrooms, especially those for the BBA LL.B. batch, are spacious, air-conditioned, and equipped with projectors and whiteboards. They are consistently kept clean and tidy.
The law library is located on a separate floor and is well-stocked with legal texts and e-resources, catering specifically to the needs of law students. Although the campus lacks large sports grounds due to space constraints, the annual Sports Day was successfully conducted — indoor games were held within the campus, while events requiring more space were organized at the DDA complex. The organizing committee also provided meals twice a day and distributed free merchandise to participants.
Hostel facilities include two options: AC rooms costing approximately ₹1 lakh and non-AC rooms priced around ₹60,000–₹70,000. Both options include mess services and regular cleaning. However, a drawback is that students are required to vacate the hostel after one year.
I would rate the infrastructure 4 out of 5.
How are the academic culture and faculty in your college?
The faculty at my college is highly qualified and experienced, with professors from prestigious institutions such as WBNUJS and Allahabad University. They are extremely supportive and consistently dedicated to delivering their best in every lecture.
The academic environment is disciplined, with a strong emphasis on attendance. Maintaining at least 80% attendance is mandatory, and students falling short are strictly debarred from examinations — several students from our batch have faced this consequence.
Class timings are generally from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, though they may extend to 5:00 PM if there are additional or special sessions. Overall, the academic culture is rigorous, well-structured, and student-focused.
I would rate it 5 out of 5.
How’s the peer quality in your college? Rate it on a scale of 5 with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest.
The peer quality in my batch is truly enriching (Rating: 4.5/5). We have students from diverse regions, including South India, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, and Odisha, which creates a culturally vibrant and inclusive environment. The atmosphere is highly competitive yet supportive — students often help one another, contributing to each other’s growth.
Professors regularly assign teamwork tasks with randomly selected classmates, which is a brilliant initiative as it promotes collaboration, cultural exchange, and communication across different backgrounds. Many of my peers are highly ambitious and self-driven — some even aspire to become judges. Being surrounded by such motivated individuals pushes everyone to strive harder and perform better.
Tell us about the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities
Our university offers a wide range of clubs and committees at both the university and departmental levels. There are general clubs, such as cultural and sports clubs, as well as department-specific committees like the Pro Bono Club, Legal Aid Committee, Moot Court Committee, Literature and Debate Society, Sports and Cultural Committee, and the International Relations Committee. These committees are overseen by faculty members and are responsible for organizing events, which are well-supported and funded by the university.
As for the social life on campus, fests do take place — though not on a massive scale like in some other universities. For instance, our annual fest was held at a hotel and was a lot of fun, but it didn’t include celebrity performances or large-scale shows. There is definitely scope for a more vibrant college festival culture in the future. I would rate it a 3/5.
How are the placements in your college?
Many students from our university have secured prestigious internships at esteemed institutions such as the Supreme Court of India, Tata Power, Indian Oil, the Ministry of External Affairs, the Ministry of Law, and leading law firms like Khaitan & Co. These opportunities were primarily obtained through the students’ own efforts, with only limited guidance provided by the university.
While the university does share some resources and internship opportunities, there is not yet a highly structured placement support system in place. Nevertheless, the student community is highly motivated and actively pursues top-tier internships independently. Considering this—and the fact that most students are able to secure internships—I would rate the placement support 3 out of 5.
How are the hostels in your college?
The number of hostel seats is limited, and allotment is done based on merit rank, so not everyone is able to secure a room easily. In terms of cleanliness, the hostels are well-maintained — rooms are cleaned daily by assigned staff. Facilities include attached bathrooms and basic amenities that generally meet student needs.
However, a major drawback is the absence of a laundry facility. Overall, considering both the pros and cons, I would rate the hostels 3.5 out of 5.
What are the best things you like about your college?
One of the best aspects of my college is the exposure and opportunities provided through various academic and cultural committees. There are multiple student-led, professor-guided committees such as Moot Court, Legal Aid, Literature & Debate, International Relations, and more — all of which actively organize events and competitions.
The campus is well-maintained, and we regularly have guest lectures, workshops, and webinars. Additionally, the academic curriculum is well-structured and places a strong emphasis on practical learning.
In your opinion, what are bad things about your college?
One drawback is the absence of large cultural fests — we don’t have the kind of grand university events with popular singers or artists that other colleges often host. Additionally, the placement cell provides only limited guidance, so most students have to find internships or job opportunities on their own.
Hostel availability is also limited, and the lack of a laundry facility is a significant inconvenience for many students.
Anything else you want to share?
Overall, the college has strong academic potential and is developing steadily. With improvements in placement support, large-scale cultural activities, and hostel facilities, the student experience could be significantly enhanced. Despite a few drawbacks, the peer group, student-led activities, and self-driven environment encourage students to build strong, well-rounded profiles.
How would you rate your college overall on a scale of 10?
8/10
