Details about the event
The Human Rights Cell, Faculty of Law, Manipal University Jaipur, in collaboration with the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) and the Central Detective Training Institute (CDTI), proudly presents a National Reel Making Competition centered around India’s new criminal law regime. This unique initiative invites participants from across the country to engage with and popularize the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam—replacing the colonial legacy of the Indian Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Indian Evidence Act.
The theme focuses on encouraging the adoption and proper usage of the full names of these landmark legislations instead of their acronyms (BNS, BNSS, and BSA), thereby fostering a deeper public understanding of their true spirit and significance. Participants are encouraged to highlight and creatively showcase major sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, aiming to generate the same level of legal awareness and familiarity once associated with sections like 302 and 420 of the IPC, and Section like 103 and 318 of BNS.
Eligibility
The Competition is open to all law students of any recognised law College/University.
