The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) is set to pronounce the order on January 23 on the plea of Meta (formerly Facebook) seeking a stay on the Competition Commission of India (CCI) ₹ 213.14-crore penalty over abuse of dominance.

The matter was related to the implementation of WhatsApp’s 2021 Privacy Policy, and the sharing of the data collected with other Meta companies.

The Appellate Tribunal admitted Meta’s plea on January 16.”We find that the submission raised by the parties needs consideration. We admit both the appeals,” said the NCLAT bench comprising Justice Ashok Bhushan.

The matter is listed before the bench of Justice Ashok Bhushan, the Chairperson, and Arun Baroka, Member (Technical), as per the cause list.
