NLU Delhi Celebrates 79ᵗʰ Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour (Date: 15th August, 2025)

National Law University Delhi proudly celebrated the 79ᵗʰ Independence Day with great enthusiasm, patriotic fervour, and a vibrant display of cultural diversity. The celebrations were graced by the distinguished Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. G.S. Bajpai, and the esteemed Registrar, Prof. Dr. Ruhi Paul, along with the participation of the university’s vibrant students, dedicated faculty, and committed staff members.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome, setting the tone for the morning’s events. The Vice Chancellor led the flag hoisting ceremony, accompanied by the National Anthem, and delivered an inspiring address that resonated deeply with the ideals of justice, equality, and liberty.

The cultural segment featured a classical medley dance, a captivating skit depicting poignant moments from India’s freedom struggle, and an energetic freestyle dance performance blending contemporary and folk traditions. The audience was further moved by a live choir rendition of the INA Song, followed by a multilingual reading of the first line of the Preamble to the Constitution.

Adding to the patriotic spirit, Ekla Cholo Re (Hindi version), narrated by Amitabh Bachchan, was played, and students presented in multiple Indian languages, representing all regions of the country. Live renditions of Ae Watan and Saare Jahan Se Accha stirred emotions across the gathering.

A special highlight was the participation of NLUD employees’ family members, who brought warmth and inclusivity to the occasion through a variety of engaging performances. The event concluded with heartfelt acknowledgements and closing remarks by Prof. (Dr.) Prasannanshu, followed by the National Anthem.

The celebration seamlessly blended solemn tradition with creative expression, embodying the unity in diversity that lies at the heart of India’s Independence Day.
